He just accepts that reality now. This notion is clearly expressed in the title of his new work "Open to Misinterpretation". This insight has also firmed his resolve to neither change his artistic direction nor to attempt making his music easier for people to access. Conner is just not interested in chasing what has worked for other people or fitting neatly into a genre. This does not mean that XASTHUR are standing still. "Open to Misinterpretation" represents a deeper and more developed version of what Conner already does. He keeps honing his expression and to find new sounds and moods for his ideas. As a result, his songwriting has become equally more detailed as well as harder to predict at the same time. The production has audibly been cleared up, even though Conner still aims for the recording process to feel live, organic, and real. "Open to Misinterpretation" probably feels more complete because these songs have already been performed live on stage due to XASTHUR's prior touring activities on both sides of the Atlantic. With "Open to Misinterpretation", the American delivers a more focused and more confident album that realises the evolution and expression of Scott Conner's sound to a point that makes it harder to misunderstand this artist's intentions. Well, and if anyone does, he has come to accept it as an integral part of XASTHUR's music.
All else, they would leave to the creative process and somewhat to chance. BEES MADE HONEY recorded every other song on "In Between Strides" in various settings that were available to them at the time of creation: a cavernous cellar, a concert stage, an indoor balcony, a living room, their rehearsal space, even returning to the studio where their first album "Medicine" was tracked. Through this spontaneous and shifting approach, BEES MADE HONEY began to move texturally and stylistically from ambient and drone toward shoegaze along with more acoustic elements. According to their original plan, "In Between Strides" stepped into more melodic territory, with each song representing a different aspect of the band's musical vocabulary. BEES MADE HONEY IN THE VEIN TREE originate from the Swabian capital and German city of Stuttgart. All four members grew up together, eventually forming the band in 2014. Their musical template of ambient psychedelic doom was established with the debut album "Medicine" in 2017, and their sound has continued to evolve ever since. With "In Between Strides", BEES MADE HONEY have turned rage into reflection by developing a more organic and spontaneous approach to their songs, opening up wide spaces and letting the melodies flow freely. This musical honey tastes simply delicious.

Although 25 years have already passed since the release of their third and final album, the interest in IMPENDING DOOM’s legacy still seems undiminished.

At long last, Darkness Shall Rise Productions has taken on this chapter of German Metal history in its tried-and-tested manner. No expense or effort has been spared in reissuing (almost) the entire body of IMPENDING DOOM’s work – comprising the releases from the pre-album phase and the three albums, including bonus material.

These definitive editions, crafted with great attention to detail, present the tracks with significantly improved sound quality whilst also leaving nothing to be desired in terms of layout and design ensuring that both long-standing fans and those who are only just discovering IMPENDING DOOM will be equally delighted.

There is no doubt that IMPENDING DOOM’s third and final album Apocalypse III – The Manifested Purgatorium is their most aggressive and brutal release to date. Unlike many other bands, who become increasingly watered-down and softer over the course of their careers in the hope of greater success, IMPENDING DOOM’s development seems to have followed exactly the opposite path. From album to album, the intensity and directness have increased. On Apocalypse III in particular, the band seem to have cast aside all unnecessary frills in order to distil the very essence of their sound in a completely unbridled and unfiltered manner.

Tracks such as “Hatespawn”, “Obscure funeral” and “Revocation of creation” – to name but a few – captivate not only with their raw intensity, delivered with the pedal to the metal and at a superb technical level, but also with the stylistic originality – a blend of Black, Thrash and Death metal elements – that has been characteristic of IMPENDING DOOM since their first demo. Apocalypse III is the band’s definitive statement not only because it’s their final album but because it showcases the horde in its most developed and vicious form.

Including tons of unseen pictures and a new interview with all band-members.

1997 saw the release of IMPENDING DOOM’s first full-length Caedes Sacrilegae. Clocking in at almost 1 hour, the ambitious album represents the culmination of the band’s artistic accomplishments of the first era. Made up of four reinterpretations of old songs from Messias Abaddon and Pagan Fires, while the rest of the album’s ten tracks consisted of brand-new material, Caedes Sarilegae, showcased the band at its most melodious.
Not least because of the extensive use of moody keyboards at least partly reminiscent of CRADLE OF FILTH or GEHENNA, Caedes Sacrilegae is nonetheless very much a Heavy Metal album at no time lacking punch or edge.

Due to unfortunate circumstances regarding the recording of the album Caedes Sacrilegae’s sound has been compromised. Now, almost 30 years after its initial release we are thrilled to present a rough mix version of the album that sounds much closer to what the band had originally intended the material to sound like.

Comprising the earliest official recordings of IMPENDING DOOM, listeners of the LP only familiar with the albums may be taken by surprise. Especially the Messias Abaddon demo originally self-released by the band in 1995 doesn’t have so much in common with later releases even though both “My goddess” and “Downfall of God” would reappear on the first album. Sonically falling somewhere between Doom- and Death Metal of the most sinister kind, this bastard of darkness is akin to the early works of MY DYING BRIDE, PARADISE LOST or DARKTHRONE’s Soulside Journey and stands as a gloomy testament to the members’ musical roots. Although, the demo still lacks the originality later IMPENDING DOOM releases would be characterized by, Messias Abaddon is still a very rewarding listen.

Despite the fact that the tracks on Pagan Fires – Promo 96 are still informed by Doom- and Death Metal parts, Thrash- and especially Black Metal influences have now been introduced to IMPENDING DOOM’s soundscape as well. With material considerably enriched by more versatile vocals and the sinister atmospheres of Black Metal, stand-out tracks like “Aeon of Dreams“ or “Pagan Fires” have not lost an inch of their impact in the 30 years since their initial release.

Their second album Signum of Hate – released only one year after its predecessor – represented a huge improvement over their debut – and not just in terms of sound.
With tracks such as “Demon-(Mon)Archy”, “Land of burning coffins” and “Sumerian awakening” – which, as is typical of IMPENDING DOOM, defied clear categorisation due to their stylistic complexity – the band presented songs that, in their efficient conciseness, were highly catchy and had real staying power.

Whilst keyboards featured to a not inconsiderable extent on earlier compositions, on Signum of Hate they have been reduced to a minimum and used only sparingly to enhance the atmosphere. Undoubtedly, the overall sound of the album is dominated by lightning-fast, Thrash-style guitar riffs with a high degree of recognisability.
Overall, the band opted for a more direct compositional approach that gets straight to the point; thus the album exhibits a significantly heightened level of intensity and aggression.
The Danish doom newcomers seemingly just appear out of the blue to deliver a modern doom metal masterpiece! Well, MAUNAH consists of veterans of the Danish rock, folk, and metal scenes such as Søren Sol Koldsen-Zederkof. The popular frontman has toured extensively with the beloved Nordic folk band KRAUKA, and he has also released several critically acclaimed albums under the artist’s name LOS. The band chemistry is just right, all the stars aligned – and remarkable talent, fresh musical ideas as well as mature songwriting flowed together naturally in MAUNAH. Although the roots of "Hjarta" reach deep into the melodic Scandinavian doom tradition, there is so much more happening on this album. A dash of Nordic folk here, a pinch of modern metal there, which is boosted by renowned producer Tue Madsen (THE HAUNTED, MOONSPELL, HEAVEN SHALL BURN et al.) being responsible for recording the groove parts with the Danes' rhythm section. With each new spin, "Hjarta" keeps giving as MAUNAH have crammed their album with excellent ideas and layers of details. In the Danes' own poetic words: "Maunah is the sound of despair and open skies. Maunah is leaves crunching underfoot, the cold of the forest floor seeping through the soles. And Maunah is the warmth of the sun on the face and oxygen filling the lungs.” With "Hjarta", MAUNAH offer a remarkable debut that goes well beyond the average and exceeds expectations. How far can these Danes get?
The genre once gloriously notorious for stillbirthing some of the vilest filth imaginable had been watered down by harmlessness and mediocrity.
It was exactly at this time that MURDER SQUAD breathed much-needed foul air into a scene so desperately lacking dirt and danger.
Spawned by members of some of the most revered Swedish Death Metal bands (ENTOMBED, DISMEMBER, MERCILESS etc.) and driven by their shared passion for intoxication and, above all, American Death Metal band AUTOPSY, the four Swedes would go on to vomit forth two full-lengths and one EP before withdrawing into the nasty hole they crawled out from.

As a special treat for MURDER SQUAD fanatics this EP originally released in 2013 is made available again, too.
Featuring two AUTOPSY covers, “Human Genocide” and “Blackness Within”, that were both recorded during the sessions for MURDER SQUAD’s second album, this EP comes with a stunning drawing by the late Timo Ketola depicted on the cover.

The genre once gloriously notorious for stillbirthing some of the vilest filth imaginable had been watered down by harmlessness and mediocrity.

Again, adorned by a disgustingly beautiful cover by the late Timo Ketola, MURDER SQUAD’s second album, Ravenous Murderous, from 2003 still has AUTOPSY-worship written all over it. But while the predecessor was literally made up of riffs that were almost identical or at least very similar to the ones found in AUTOPSY tracks, Ravenous Murderous feels more like an unreleased AUTOPSY album than a different band paying tribute to AUTOPSY. This time around MURDER SQUAD have even been supported in the studio by legendary Chris Reifert of AUTOPSY himself contributing vocals, guitars and drums. These joined efforts resulted in a very dark Death Metal album coming with pleasantly politically incorrect lyrics certain to upset today’s moral police.
Right off the bat, while the first riffs blare out of the speakers, MURDER SQUAD make it unmistakably clear that they don’t give a damn about originality or sophistication. Sonically almost entirely influenced by AUTOPSY – which had been split-up for six years at the time the album was released – and their depraved legacy, MURDER SQUAD are instead devoted to paying tribute to San Francisco’s most foul and deranged. Unsurprisingly, given the Swedes history and experience, they pull it off very convincingly. Although, their vey fittingly titled full-length zealously and unabashedly worships at the altar of AUTOPSY, the Swedish weirdos do so without lacking style.

What is frowned upon for good reasons in education these days, remains a great prospect for headbangers and metalheads of all ages. And SPACE CHASER deliver big time with their fourth studio album "Razorblade Bay". This album comes with everything that the discerning thrash metal gentleman might wish to hear these days: classic thrash riffing with a particular German leaning, and distant echoes of KREATOR, SODOM, and DESTRUCTION are always appreciated, yet there is also a dash of punk-ish energy and spirit as well as some speed metal bravado in their bespoke sonic garment. In short: in your face! At this point, it shall be duly noted that this galactic battleship is co-piloted in the producer's seat by none other than Andy Brings of SODOM-fame. SPACE CHASER add their own musical embroidery and their distinct lyrical stitching brings science fiction stories to life. Of course, not the boring technical stuff but rather the exciting horror aspects of the genre. Prepare to be devoured by giant space worms. SPACE CHASER are more than ready to jump into hyperspace with their new thrashing engine made by "Razorblade Bay" Inc. on Planet Berlin! After six decades on all the stages of the world, boundary‑breaking performances, pioneering and innovating rock music, fate and life have brought the iconic singer back to where he came from – both as a creative artist and in his personal geography. For more than sixty years, ARTHUR BROWN has stood as one of the most singular figures in rock music. The singer and performer is universally recognised as a true visionary whose work has always moved beyond conventional songcraft and crossed over into theatre, ritual, and sonic experimentation. At the culmination of his extraordinary decade-spanning career, ARTHUR BROWN announces the release of what he describes as his pinnacle album: "Nature". In recent years, ARTHUR BROWN has been contemplating how he would like to see the final chapter of his musical journey to unfold. "Nature" is a reflection on a life that has been and is still dedicated to the search of meaning through creativity, spirituality, and artistic exploration. Throughout ARTHUR BROWN's life, one idea has returned time and again: the cosmic unity of existence. "Nature" places that philosophy at its centre. More than just another album, "Nature" offers an interwoven tapestry of natural sounds, improvised exploration of instruments, traditional composition, and joyful collaboration. With ARTHUR BROWN both in a physical and musical sense, it is time to let "Nature" take its course and blues rock to win hearts again!
Their albums are regarded milestones until today, but internal friction, legal issues, and most of all the tragic passing of one of its founding members, Felix Flaucher, has left their works in a limbo for many years. The compilation "Tears - A Collection of Silke Bischoff Songs" is the first step in making their oeuvre available to the public again. This hand-picked selection of classic tracks has been diligently and respectfully restored with a new master by renowned producer Olaf Wollschläger, who has worked with MESH, YELLO, MILÚ, MELOTRON, and BEBORN BETON among many other greats. This compilation even contains a previously unreleased track from the archive featuring Flaucher’s vocals! SILKE BISCHOFF were originally founded by Axel Kretschmann and Felix Flaucher as a gothic and dark wave project in 1990. The band name, SILKE BISCHOFF, initially caused controversy in Germany as it was inspired by an 18-year-old victim of the 1988 'Gladbeck hostage crisis’ that tragically ended in the death of the young woman. Following an acrimonious split that was healed just before the passing of Flaucher in 2017, the band went onto a long hiatus. At the 2025 edition of the prestigious Wave-Gotik-Treffen, Axel Kretschmann revived SILKE BISCHOFF with a celebrated stellar show in front of a packed hall. More concerts have been announced and more SILKE BISCHOFF materials will be carefully restored and become available again both in digital and physical form. The legend has returned!

On "Fear Of A Unique Identity", Antimatter's first records for more than four years, Mick Moss seems to follow the only logical path with respect to his recent work. After the critically acclaimed retrospective "Alternative Matter", which in 2010 marked Antimatter's tenth anniversary, he harks back to the electronic sounds from the early days - "Saviour" (2000) as well as "Lights Out" (2003) - without swerving from the Rock-oriented way established with "Leaving Eden" (2007).

For the first time ever in 2012, Mick Moss also presents Antimatter as a complete band (featuring Latvian songstress Vic Anselmo) with which he has recorded a compact cycle of songs with a thematic red thread: In their latest work, Antimatter address social restraints and exclusion, yet not with with a colder sound, but rather the most intense and energetic music the group has created so far. Songs like "Paranova", "Monochrome" or the video track "Uniformed & Black" once more demonstrate Moss' strong songwriting abilities and enlarge upon the serious topic with musical finesse.

...Antimatter-mainman Mick Moss states self-consciously about his most recent work, "The Judas Table". "I'm singing about my experiences, but I'm a firm believer that they are everybody else's experiences as well."

Throughout his life, Moss has repeatedly experienced disappointment on a personal level along with the self-doubt that goes with it. The deficiencies of human behaviour and social life have always been the proverbial red thread through his lyrics, but prior to "The Judas Table", a critical limit was exceeded for Moss. On Antimatter's sixth album, he accounts for different personal conflicts with an unusual, almost scientific poignancy and is harder on people from his immediate surroundings than ever, yet also on himself: "For 'The Judas Table' I gather together the various personalities of the people who's callous and disrespectful, backstabbing actions caused me countless wasted years of depression", he resumes. "For years I thought the problem was with me. I was always open and tried my best, but was nevertheless used and betrayed many times. This led me to believe I was worthless and must have deserved it. Now I realise the problem was with the clinically psychologically soulless people who treated me that way due to their nature, not mine."

The liberating and empowering conceptual approach is also reflected in the music. "The Judas Table" just like "Leaving Eden" and "Fear Of A Unique Identity" is essentially appealing due to its intense blend of melancholic Art Rock, dark Gothic and introspective acoustic pieces, but as a whole seems less nervous and restless than earlier records. The new Antimatter record appears to be calm and attests to a so far unfamiliar inner peace, an equilibrium found - a hint at the fact that Moss might have overcome his torturing demons?
